No sound in VirtualBox

Anybody having no sound in VirtualBox?
I tried with no success in both:
GeckoLinux_ROLLING-OBS_Pantheon.x86_64-999.220105.0.iso
GeckoLinux_ROLLING_XFCE.x86_64-999.220105.0.iso.
I updated all systems too, everything else works perfectly.

I also tried VirtualBox with: openSUSE-Tumbleweed-DVD-x86_64-Snapshot20220109-Media.iso, XFCE desktop, and no sound either.

Google/web search doesn't produce a fix that I could find.
Any Ideas?

Hi there @jaycstewart , I do test GeckoLinux (and openSUSE vanilla) with VirtualBox, and sound works fine. Did you try setting the system type to "openSUSE" when you create the VM? With those defaults everything should work out of the box. Also make sure it's configured to use the ICH AC97 virtual sound device.

Okay, I installed openSUSE-Leap-15.3-2-DVD-x86_64-Build24.5-Media.iso, with your aforementioned settings into VirtualBox, and We Got Sound! Wow this openSUSE-Leap-15.3-2 is awesome.
I think your right-on about PipeWire vs PulseAudio. I already tried Fedora 53 Gnome and it's a resource hog and the fonts look like junk.
So now I'm a try your static Gecko-Budgie version, I'll let you know how that goes.

OK, so discarded the possibility that it's due to PipeWire on the guest system. Did your openSUSE Leap 15.3 installation have the VirtualBox guest modules installed? Could you paste here all virtualbox* packages on it?

I did not install the VirtualBox guest additions in openSUSE Leap 15.3, because everything worked out of the box, e.g., bidirectional copy/paste, screen resolution, sound, font clarity, etc.

As for the GeckoLinux_STATIC_Budgie.x86_64-153.220104.0.iso I tried last night, there was no sound in Live mode, so I stopped there, didn't want to wast another hour installing.

If openSUSE had copy/paste and screen resolution then that means it installed the VirtualBox modules automatically. GeckoLinux also includes them by default.
