snapper rollback not working

2 days ago there was an update on TW where NetworkManager-wifi was required, otherwise the wifi adapter wouldn't be recognized. To fix this I had to boot to a different snapshot. But when I wanted to do snapper rollback I got an error message "snapper rollbackCannot detect ambit since default subvolume is unknown.This can happen if the system was not set up for rollback.The ambit can be specified manually using the --ambit option.".
I don't know what configurations to check, how the defaults are. I also searched for some help on google but it seems that I have everything configured or setup as it should be. So any extra information and help would be most welcome.
I know that during installation I went for btrfs and if I remember right I tried to set up LVM too but don't know if I did or not.

After booting into the desired snapshot from the GRUB bootloader, run the following command in a terminal:

sudo snapper --ambit classic rollback

I will try this the next time since I fixed the problem. But someone told me that this didn't work for him so I wanted to check the configs and settings for it. Thanks

Thanks @theArianit - for some reason the sudo snapper --ambit classic rollback worked this morning. Perhaps I had the wrong code from another source...

What bugs me so immensely about this answer is a) it's ubiquity and b) the total obfuscation that it represents. Seriously, I have tried and tried and am still trying and cannot for the life of me work out what this does, what an ambit is and what selecting the classic ambit does vs. the auto or transaction ambits which the man page says are supported without dedicating a single word to explaining what this means and what selecting an ambit does!
