Testing (debugging) with GDB

Currently GDB works only for gramine-vm, and only in a limited way. GDB support for gramine-tdx is not yet implemented (and not sure when/if it will be implemented).

• Start GDB=1 gramine-vm ... in one terminal
• Start gdb in another terminal and do this:

  file <your-dir-to-gramine>/built-debug/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gramine/vm/pal
  target remote localhost:9000
  hbreak pal_start_c
  continue
  

You can also set breakpoints and check backtraces, look at register values, examine address space.

One notable thing that does not work is single-stepping (n, s, ni, si).
