Here is a submission for a geofacet grid of US principal aquifers. A principal aquifer is defined as a regionally extensive aquifer or aquifer system that has the potential to be used as a source of potable (drinkable) water. For study or mapping purposes, aquifers are often combined into aquifer systems (Link to USGS definition of principal aquifer). The reference image is Figure 1 from "Predictions of groundwater PFAS occurrence at drinking water supply depths in the United States". An example of data is attached to create pie charts from a data source that is about to be released at this doi.
