While developing a web app I noticed that I could not close Developer Tools in Firefox using the mouse.

How to reproduce

Open a window
Open Firefox
reduce the width of the Firefox window to about 1/5
try to click on things on the right side of the Firefox window

This video shows how I try to close Firefox by clicking on the cross. Instead of closing a new tab gets opened. Also please look at the highlighting there you can see how the cursor starts to become more and more off the further I move it to the right.

That's because firefox gets so small it can't render at such a small resolution, and we squish it.

I don't know how events get sent to windows, but I imagine that the mouse coordinates within the window are somehow reported to the client.

Would it make sense to translate the reported from the "real" ones to "virtual" ones corresponding to the same location of the unsquished window?
