Extend soft-keyboard, and full-screen refresh feature requests for Android apps #533

Is anyone else currently (or in the past) experienced this issue?

I cannot say WHEN it started happening, but it's a new development. I'm using the pro version 5.2.9. Everything used to work flawlessly, and as far as I know, nothing has changed on my android device.

Whenever I bring up the keyboard from the toolbar, the screen either turns totally black or just sections of the screen turn black. The only way I've found to fully refresh the screen is to disconnect and then reconnect again. Could a refresh the entire screen function be added?

Sometimes when I move the mouse around (before disconnecting and reconnecting again), I can get small portions near the current mouse pointer region to refresh, but it never fully refreshes the current mouse pointer region.

After disconnecting and reconnecting, It starts anew with the whole screen viewable, until I again click the popup keyboard from the toolbar. Is there anyway to keep the keyboard visible?

Do you mean that you would like me to uninstall my current version and then install, then remove each previous version to test which version doesn't have the problem?

I'm curious how this would work since I have the PRO (paid for) version..

To recap, bVNC pro v:5.2.9 has the refresh issue I've described above.

Attempting bVNC free as you've suggested above, neither v:5.2.9 nor v:5.2.7, exhibits the same refresh issue.

I've cleared both Data and Cache (via android settings, apps, bvnc pro, storage) and the refresh issue now seems resolved.

Would it be possible to add two additional functions to the three-verticle-dots menu, A function for automatically having the keyboard visible (upon connection) and a second function that will perform a full screen refresh upon activation of the function?

I MAYBE have the fix.
I'm on root device galaxy s20fe aosp rom with nethunter installed via magisk.
I was experiencing the same issue I opened a ticket for this to like 3days ago and yesterday i did a trick "to see".
So I open nethunter kex, I connect to my localhost and arrive on the desktop
I click somewhere on the screen to make the 3dots button and keyboard button appear i click on 3dots then click color mode.
By default should be 24bit 24 bpp checked, so I check the second choice 256 color 8 bpp in waiting the change apply, I remember I also change the scaling option to "fit to screen". After that wait all settings apply correctly when done go again on the 3dots menu and go reset your parameters to default in color mode and scale.
Since I did that the issue don't re-happened, I can't say what parameter do the trick but for me these 2 actions fix it all is ok now. I hope that can help someone. I also noticed if I close the app without disconnect from the session before closing, on the next launch the same issue happen but without open the keyboard xD it's maybe that it "broke" the screen for all so think about click disconnect before closing your vnc viewer and don't forget to turn it off in termux should be good to consider and after that you can close termux and the vnc viewer app. Since yesterday and by following all that steps I don't see this issue again.
So if you are on no root version or other config with other app than nethunter store's app for your vnc viewer app, maybe try same thing go to color mode in vnc viewer app change it, wait it apply correctly and reset it to default, maybe that work for you to, but I do not test and I will not so why don't use app that was build for ? If that don't work for bvnc and all other app I see in all posts try to install nethunter store for those who don't use root version and try nethunter termux and nethunter kex vnc viewer I don't know why but I think there are made to work together. ^^
It's not a fix its a trick that work well for me so don't hope to much.
