The host installation guides are useful for this, but the guide can be a lot more concise when targeting local development specifically.
This guide should also talk about setting up vscode and other relevant tools.
It should also mention that development on Ubuntu natively (no WSL) is the most supported option, and reference some easy Ubuntu installation guides.

The Quickstart guide published with #114 partially solves this
The Control Center will be the way to setup the engine, and this task won't be needed by then.
