Does Formik work with Google Tag Manager?

My company is trying to track some form data from a React SPA that uses Formik. Although a lot of form solutions do work fine, Formik never causes Google Tag Manager to toggle it's gtm.formsubmit event. Thus, we are not able to pass any form data over to Google Analytics, which is a big problem for us. Any thoughts of how I can use Google Tag Manager with Formik and get it to fire a submit event?
