Filter modifier - need to handle json, array and object input for column selection. #3

At the moment the filter modifier is not handling arrays. Suggest implementing this, as it will make handling queries directly from HTML, or from PHP clients (associative arrays) much easier.

Notes:

Should still support objects also as it makes it easier for JS based clients to send requests.
