imo we should provide recipes for using solid meta + mediakit/og in custom themes rather than having anything builtin to the core or default theme

I think we should provide a default one using the frontmatter title (and an override title just for og) as well as a description.

But make it easy to disable/replace with your own. Maybe this can be injected during compile and we can extract data from the md into it.
