OpenEmu Theme #190
Comments
It's an interesting idea, much like your idea to try and adapt the FontAwesome icons as a theme in #111. I'd still love to see that come to the main repository someday. If garbear ends up releasing source files that are not flattened PNGs, then someone might be able to adapt the artwork and make the design elements snap to the grid and reduce the color palette as I advise in the Guide to Making Themes. Going through that effort would likely give a far better result than simply downscaling the artwork from 1000x1000 to 256x256. |
oh wow, those are BSD-licensed? That's fantastic. Themes aside, I know many people have requested an image of the original controller to be shown alongside the input remapping menu, and these would be perfect for that. |
Quick and dirty OpenEmu-theme.zip throw the pngs into the theme assets\xmb\custom\png folder and fill up with another theme. |
@alfrix Feel free to submit that theme via PR if you'd like to see it become part of the codebase. |
Looks pretty cool. Some initial thoughts...

@RobLoach I was sad to see this closed. I'm hoping someday the OpenEmu icons will be ported to the project as a fully functioning theme. I've thought about porting the Recalbox Next theme, but I don't think its Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 4.0 License CC BY-NC-ND makes it feasible. The icons would all need to be resized and many would need to be rotated for use in the XMB. Even after all that, it would need a serious amount of UI-level icons added to create a fairly complete set. |
Happy to keep it open 👍 |
garbear created a kodi-game repo including all the BSD-licensed art from OpenEmu:

Could be neat to see what it would look like as an XMB theme.
