This project will give the possibility to create your own Philips Hue system easily and at a much lower cost, plus some extra futures like email alarm when a motion sensor is triggered. By default it can work just with wifi lights and sensors based on esp8266 platform, but it can be extended also to ZigBee devices using the RaspBee module, or it can control just ZigBee lights with Ikea Tradfri Gateway or the original Philips Hue Bridge. With Raspbee module is possible to control directly all ZigBee lights and to use a number of ZigBee switches and sensors. I put more attention on IKEA Tradfri devices because these have accessible prices and can be found on lot of countries.
