Trying on various VMs, my first guess is that, on the title screen, it attempts to play CD audio, and hangs. On second thought: I don't think iso files support CD audio tracks, and if it was this broken, it should have been noticed earlier.
The manual's minimum OS version was 7.6.1, which wasn't available.

The French disk image is a bin/cue which, when dragged over, can open and launch; it hangs on the title screen.
