I know the option specifies Lobby but when in game, in the chat I see "Error: Chat room not connected" which leads me to believe that the intention might also be in game chat too, if this is the case, I can still see people chatting. If this isn't the case then I guess working as intended but thought I'd rase just incase

Yeah, this is a remnant from when Deceive was League-only. League's in-game chat works using a different chat system, so it'd still work. VALORANT uses the same chat system for lobby and ingame, so it breaks. Interesting that it manifests in this way.

Should probably look at renaming this option (or removing it entirely; not sure if many people use it at all).

@molenzwiebel Ahh I see all good, yeah I've used it on League, never really on Valorant just mainly to appear offline in Valorant.

Don't remove the feature, it is very much used by many users. The chat box for many users is useless, it offers no benefit or enhancement to the game. It's just a type of console log to show in-game events like Broadcast messages and other users spam most of the time.

Is there any way you can make it work as intended? To disable the chat totally? I noticed this also, if "Enable Lobby Chat" is unticked, then sometimes the game chat is disabled and sometimes it's not.

For example, round 1 it will be disabled in a match, then round 2 and 3 it will be enabled again, then round 4 it will be disabled, and keep glitching. Personally, I would rather have the chat box removed altogether if it's allowed.

In my experience, the chat box has no benefit over pings/voice when in-game. It's just a distraction and most of the time now days it just gets abused with users spamming ascii art in there that covers 1/4 of the screen. Extremely distracting if you're in Valorant and a 1v3 situation. It gets tiresome having to manually disable every users chat, every game.

If you can't get the Enable Lobby Chat / Disable Lobby Chat feature to work as intended, do you think you could change it so it automatically mutes every players text when you load in automatically?

I know there is an option to enable/disable voice globally in the in-game options, however there is no option to enable/disable text globally.
