Hmmm that sounds like something to try. I will try to virtualize it with VMware Thinapp lets see if it works... |
Good afternoon I have discussed this on Discord and "Mysterium Quiz Master" on telegram. I built a Mysterium VPN portable version you can download here: I was suggested to do a pull request, but Im not sure how to do it nor if its worth doing so. I have documented how I built my VPN Portable version here: https://hackingsa.ga/mysterium-vpn-portable/ Its nothing fancy, just grabbed the normal VPN folder and created a self-extrac with Winrar SFX on %temp% folder and added icon with Resource Hacker. So far works, but since Im not part of the official team nor my release. Just wanted to share here all info I got and how should we proceed next steps? Should I fork your repo and just upload my portable client with instructions on how to do it? So you guys do a merge? Let me know! |
Hello @kiraitachi, the portable version isn't working for me. |
Good afternoon. My wife, baby son and me are feeling sick this weekend, with some fever.... As soon as Im back on my feet I will ping you on Discord so we can check this together. I've tried in a VM just in case today and it worked fine. I executed the VPN portable client and imported keystore.json and was able to connect. In any case, I will reach out to you this week as soon as possible. Thanks for your understanding. |
Thanks for this initiative @kiraitachi ! |
Should I suggest closing this ticket as there is a working portable workaround for meantime? |
As a linux user, I would love a portable appimage release, I use Manjaro or Solus as my daily driver, Currently linux release is available in rpm or deb format only. Portable binary like flatpak or appimage will be able to run on any linux platform, not just those based on debian or redhats. |
In my opinion, I think it would be useful to have a portable version of the vpn, because for example, in my case, it would be easier for me to be able to use it without having to install it and then uninstall it
