These are the current BIAPs - niBabel increased awesomeness proposals.

• BIAP3 - a JSON nifti header extension
• BIAP4 - merge of nibabel and dcmstack
• BIAP5 - a streamlines converter

These are retired BIAPS:

• BIAP1 - towards partially immutable images
• BIAP2 - slice by slice read of large images

In parallel - there are some general discussions:

• the nibabel image model in image_model
• working out data packages in data_packages
• a manifesto about when to use properties in property_manifesto
