I'm using a Pixel 6 with the newest Android 13 stable (13.0.0 (TP1A.220624.021, Aug 2022)) and the option "Auto dissmiss lockscreen" is not working anymore. It looks like as if Google changed something in A13.

If I tick the option "Auto dissmiss lockscreen":

  • After the face is recognized I still need to swipe up and need to enter the PIN.
  • -> Please see attached gif for more informations
    unlock

If I untick the option "Auto dissmiss lockscreen":

  • After the face is recognized I need to swipe up and the phone is unlocked.

Please let me know if I can help you in any way.

Just wanted to give you a small workaround that's working for me until this issue is patched up.

The FP sensor dismisses the lock screen every time with no finger print registered. Just act like you're using fp unlock and it'll work everytime with face

I'm having the same problem on A13 (TQ1A.221205.011) on Pixel 6, after a while out of nowhere it works, it's intermittent.

Just came here to say that it's also happening to me too. Using an A13 custom ROM tho.

Using FP just defeats the entire point of having this. If I wanted to use FP then I would use FP instead of face unlock.

I know, what I'm saying is as a workaround, no fingerprint registered, you just press it like you are going to scan in a fingerprint.

It still triggers the face unlock, assuming you're not on the December or later Patches of Android 13. This also will dismiss the lock screen.

I'm not on the December patch but I don't think what you said works. Besides this issue is old and has already been fixed in an update (check the XDA thread, not here).
