EVENT 5: Backend Development in Rust Virtual Meeting

@RustaceansKenya will be partnering with @itsyaasir in hosting a virtual event discussing Rust Backend development.
The event will start on 7th Sep 2024 and end after a couple of weeks (variable).

Topic: Backend Development with Rust at production Level
Target Audience: Beginners & Intermediates

Contents:

• Building an API
• Testing (unit testing, integration testing, fuzzy testing, property-based testing)
• Setting up CI/CD pipeline
• Deploying a VM
• Configuring a domain and linking it to the API

Time Details:

• This event will span for a couple of weeks depending on the pace of the target audience. The first meeting will have an intro on the course plus a discussion on the course timeline.
• Each meeting will take about 1hr 30min
• There will be breaks. People can't learn continuously for weeks. Grass must be touched.

Discussions, Source, Contributions
This is not a closed event, being that it will span weeks. People can join in and contribute content whenever possible.

Each session will be recorded and posted under this youtube playlist

For the first meeting, this will be more or less the agent of the meeting

1. Welcome and Introduction (0-10 mins)
2. Series Overview (10-20 mins)
3. Setting Up the Development Environment (20-40 mins)
4. Creating the Project Structure (40-60 mins)
5. Q&A and Troubleshooting (60-75 mins)
6. Introduction to Axum (if time allows)

I would like the series be more of hands on rather than general talks. Hope to see many of you guys there!
