please can you make a separate repo and put only the chat system

Currently this is not possible because the chat depends on the global socket for communication with the backend, which is dependent on the main website. Making it separate requires to rewrite many of its API as well as implementating a separate login system. This will take a long time and the developers have not planned to do so.
