Is it necessary when upgrading from PrimeNG 17 to 18 to migrate from PrimeFlex to Tailwind, that is, will PrimeNG18 work with PrimeFlex.

I know there's been some talk but I haven't found any official comment that it is or isn't necessary until today.

Today in Discord, user "Optimus" of the PrimeFlex team said:

Tailwind is more like an option, PrimeFlex v4 now supports PrimeVue v4 and PrimeNG 18/19 as well. You do not have to migrate to Tailwind, there are other CSS libraries as well as options. Prime UI plays nicely with it though thanks to the plugin integration, but the core of Prime libraries don't use Tailwind.
PrimeFlex v4 is out now with compatibility for newer Prime libraries that have the new theming based on design tokens;

I recommend switching to TailwindCSS which is the web standard in terms of CSS library.
PrimeFlex is a CSS library proprietary to PrimeTek.
Moreover, PrimeTek's desire is to switch all premium templates and PrimeBlocks to Tailwind

Yes, PrimeFlex isn't the future. We're (OP is my colleague) asking about "necessary" specifically because we already have unexpected rework required due to the theme system rewrite in PrimeNG 18. Having to move to Tailwind at the same time would complicate things.
