valkey-8.0.2-bionic-x86_64 are not working on SUSE Linux.

Hi,

I have downloaded the 8.0.2-bionic-x86_64 version and trying to run ./valkey-cli or ./valkey-server but i am encountering an error.
./valkey-server: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.

kindly help me how to fix.

seems like you compiled Valkey with SSL support. do you have openssl installed on your system?

Thank you for your reply, yes i have downloaded the compiled valkey with ssl, openssl is installed but its version 1. do i need to install openssl version 3?

Both valkey-server and valkey-cli were build using GLIBC 3.2.0:

and in fact there are symbols used from glibc 2.9, So I suspect you will be better compiling valkey yourself (not a very complicated task)
Or in case you are running on a linux distro which provides valkey (ubuntu, fedora, openSuse etc...) you can try get the binary package via the package manager.

i tried to compile valkey git branch by myself now getting compilation error.

I brought up a SUSE VM (AWS):

and did the following steps:

1. sudo zypper install git gcc make openssl-devel tcl
2. git clone https://github.com/valkey-io/valkey.git
3. cd valkey
4. make BUILD_TLS=yes
   It built valkey and cli.

this seems like more related to git crlf. can you verify your git config core.autocrlf is set to input ?

@ranshid I have set git config core.autocrlf to input, then also not compiling.
