Windows App (Microsoft Remote Desktop) #970
Comments
@Timotei-S Can you please record a small video showing the issue? I am using RDP myself and don't have such issues. |
Attachment available until 27 Dec 2024
I have updated the app today and can't seem to replicate the freeze bug right now, but here you can see the other issue, with pasteing the wrong item. And not saving into memory the copied item.

Did you enable bidirectional clipboard on your RDP connection?

I have issues with pasting (though they are fairly known and backtrack to old versions of RDP), but I cannot reproduce the copy issue. UPD: Pasting issues are resolved after enabling "Scancode" keyboard mode. Screen.Recording.2024-11-27.at.09.48.55.mov |
How do I enable "Scancode" keyboard mode? *Also, I use Karabiner to switch cmd and ctrl. Could that add additional problems? |
Screen.Recording.2024-11-28.at.11.56.38.movHere you can also see how if I open the app it saved the copied item into memory, but if I don't, it does not. |
Screen.Recording.2024-11-28.at.12.24.27.movHere is the app freeze in action. I just tried to paste something into the Windows App. |
It could be related. Can you disable Karabiner and re-test? |
Sorry, can load any of your videos (1 doesn't load at all while 2 has just 4 seconds). Can you re-upload please? |
I think it has something to do with the Windows App. When I restart the app, some of the problems seem to disappear. I tested working without Karabiner opened and it does not seem to make any difference. |
Ok, that hanging looks weird, but I cannot reproduce it with the Windows App myself.

Hi, I'm experiencing the same issue as Timotei-S with the text copying as shown on the video below. Update: I have tried the exactly same "test" with Royal TSX instead of Windows App ( RDP connection ) and it works on Royal TSX as it should, so it feels like the issue is with the Windows app it self. Btw I do have clipboard mode in "Bidirectional" as well in Windows app. Screen.Recording.2024-12-13.at.19.05.51.mov |
@br1nqq I think it might be because the Windows App syncs the clipboard when the window focus is lost or periodically. With that said, there is nothing Maccy can do about it. @Timotei-S Please share the pasteboard contents. |

Description
A lot of the times, when I try to paste something from Maccy into the Windows App (Microsoft Remote Desktop), Maccy stops working, showing not responding and I have to force close it and restart it to make it work again.
Also, almost every time I have to click a second time to paste the correct item, it initially inserts the last copied item, not the one I selected from the list.
