CJK characters become unicode encoded when copying from wayland to xwayland

I've encountered an issue when copying CJK characters from Firex on Wayland into Discord or Steam(xwayland).

The copied text turns into Unicode encoded characters. However, when copying the same text into other Wayland clients, such as other Cosmic apps, this issue does not occur.

Interestingly, when copying to Discord, the issue seems to happen with a 50% chance. More specifically, the first copy may work correctly, but on the next attempt, the text gets incorrectly encoded, and this alternates with every copy.

Steps to Reproduce:

• Open Firefox on Wayland.
• Copy CJK characters from Firefox. like : 測試
• Paste into Discord or Steam.
• Observe the text being transformed into Unicode encoding.
• Try copying and pasting again to observe the alternating behavior in Discord.
