I'd love a feature that lets us create a custom status that when content is set to that, we can either 301 or 410 the post/page so that we can keep a copy of the content that we are removing. Removing unhelpful content has become even a bigger deal since the HCU from google this fall.

The use case that I'm looking to solve is to keep the content on the backend of WP, filed away under a custom status AND add a 301 redirect or 410 content deleted http header for that URL.

We often are asked to delete or remove low value content to help address "low value content" issues with google.
