求指点，我想写个独立界面的Shell程序 #2

带独立界面是指像mail一样，进入mail程序之后就进入了mail的程序界面，输入的命令就无需要一长条。
打算用PHP写这个Shell程序，不知是否会遇到什么问题？

望指教

mail是个二进程文件，是字符界面（有别于图形界面），可不是shell脚本。
PHP不善于干这个，比如说响应快捷键
