Receiving "You are not allowed to run commands for this bot." error. #29

Same here ._. |
Old bug but these days you won't have the # and number at the end. It will just be your username for discord after they did the migration. Leave off the #0 that is there for compatibility. |
I tried just my new username without any # or 0 etc. first, sadly. I tried JinxLuckless, jinxluckless, jinxluckless#0000, and my Discord user ID, the fully numeric one you can get in debug mode. Or if I'm misunderstanding what you said, you're saying the bug is now fixed so that JinxLuckless would now work, but didn't work before because of the Discord switchover on #'s to plain names? I can't currently check again since I'm not subbed this month. Should be subbed again soon, though. :) |
Just got to this plugin and leaving the discord name without #0 doesn't work so I'm a little confused |
You should be using your discord username (the one you login with), not your display name or a nickname. After the discord discriminator removal, these may not match. Alternatively, you can use your user ID number, if you know how to get it. The plugin will attempt to resolve username#0 / username#0000 like the old format, but that was a holdover while users were still being converted. It should not be used others. (It's a transitional feature and I'll keep the code there as long as Discord keeps supporting it.) |
I still seem to be having the original problem. The bot comes to my server, and I can use xl!help, which works perfectly just like before. However, when I try running commands like 'xl!setchannel' the bot keeps saying "You are not allowed to run commands for this bot." In FFXIV's /pdiscord I've definitely got my name as my discord username, and the bot's token is correct-- I generated a new token just to be sure. I've tried kicking the bot from my server & then reinviting it, but even when it's not connected to my server, FFXIV's /pdiscord says 'Connected!' in green. When I click 'save' on the /pdiscord settings, it briefly says not connected, and then goes back to a green 'Connected!' Just to be sure, I also tried my Discord ID number. I'm not sure what to try next. |

What did you do?
I'm able to get the bot onto my server, and it's hooked to Dalamud, but it doesn't recognize me as the user. I typed /pdiscord & used the new-style discord name of JinxLuckless without numbers behind it, and then also tried jinxluckless and jinxluckless#0000, and finally I also tried my user ID, the fully numerical one. The bot responds, but only to xl!help. Anything else I try, I get the following:
"Error
You are not allowed to run commands for this bot.
If this is your bot, please use the "/pdiscord" command in-game to enter your username or Discord User ID number."
I've kicked the bot from my server in between changing what username type I put in for /pdiscord, just to be safe, but still the same issue.
