Display arrangement - layout system?

If a VMS panel consists of several physical displays, we need a configuration that reflects this.

If an image display can be use to display one or more virtual displays of other types (e.g. an icon display or text display), then we need a way to configure how these virtual displays are arranged. There are many ways to do this. Some examples of layout systems include:

• Apple Auto Layout
• SwiftUI

It's a balance between simplicity and flexibility. Should the layout use absolute pixel positions? Or should it be responsive, so you can change the underlying physical screen, and the layout adapts?
