I just noticed after coming back to rustic, that it disables the rust-ts-mode, instead requiring rust-mode.

I think this is slightly problematic behaviour that can be fixed by

  1. looking at the version of emacs that you have loaded; namely if it's 29 or later,
  2. if the file is already in rust-ts-mode
  3. Enabling a subsystem that doesn't require rust-mode but works on top of rust-ts-mode.
