[Question] Is there other way to use keyd without Xcompose ?

Im using Keyd and it works as expected in terms of remapping BUT i fell a lag when keyd do the remap. I see the original input and the change input happening in my screen, i think im using the wrong backend.

example:
i have remap that after doing the macro it display á , but before á shows , a 3 letter characters sequence are displayed and then are changed to á , these happens to all accented letters that i use

maybe a direct UTF code would solve, for it not have to look in the enormeous xcompose file provided by keyd , or would be the same ?
