Case 2cInAMSuka
It should have cInAMSuka, but the print does not have anusvAra. |
It is very much sensible, if one knows a little bit of Indian Mathematics and Astronomy texts. It is the case of va/ba here. SCeD+a+vaDena. vaDa, hata and such synonymous words mean 'to divide', in the Indian mathematical literature. |
Good. Will change to vaDa then. |
Just a lighter vein comment-- |
Case 3headword - aMsa
Do we keep this or remove this? |
Case 3akratu
https://www.sanskrit-lexicon.uni-koeln.de/scans/csl-apidev/servepdf.php?dict=vcp&page=0041 gfDravAca or mfDravAca? We may need to find out the reference and decide. |
it is mf only. this word is a synonym for dasyu in RV. |
Case 4akza svayameva / suyameva ?
|
Case 4pyatra / pyatraM ?
|
It is agnikAryyAdayo'pi + atra. |
svayameva. |
What is the process of the case numbering here? I see two no.s of Case 3 and two no.s of Case 4. |
I see no loss of sense by removing this. |
There is nothing about numberinf. Sheer negligence on my part. Will start from case 7 now onwarda. |
Case 7agrediDizu / agredizizu ? |
diDi it should be. |
Case 8aNka antanizkAntra / antarnizkrAnta ?
|
it is antar only. look at the context sense; it is talking about all the actors going behind (antar = inside) the curtains at the end of the scene. and the SKD is clearly showing the same. one simple clue in deciphering the doubtful points in S2S dictionaries is to look at the 3 works SKD, VCP and Apte once. speaking of this, I am reminded about the only leftover multivol. work in the category- the Sabdarthachintamani. @drdhaval2785, if you can do the OCR and basic cleaning, I am willing to proofread the 4 volumes set. |
I planned to do the OCR, but dropped it, because the cost of book was very prohibitive. If we get good quality scan, it would be easier to OCR. |

prohibitive? I remember getting the set for Rs.1800 only. (about 5-6 years back) |
I remember the cost being 18000 or so.

The print is without 'n'. But it does not make sense to me.
