Maybe this is due to the lack of support for AVX2 and FMA instructions on my processor.

Same on Haswell cpu (4670k). As in thumbnails generate more slowly with the newer versions.

tirr-c/jxl-oxide#202 reports some perf issue too, might be related.

I can't say I've noticed a longer opening.

But the CPU is more loaded. I have a tray temp icon for my 5700x. With v0.1.19 it doesn't get hotter than 45-50 Celsius when flipping images. With the latest from main the temp reaches 65.

That still means your CPU had to work more with newer versions, I'd say that's based on the same problem.

Not useable anymore. JPEGView64 is much, MUCH faster!
