My use case is I want to use HLS with Stack simultaneously, but it is recommended for HLS to be installed via GHCup rather than Stack, hence my issue when installing both, each has its own .ghcup folder. I think it'd be easy enough to make a GHCup common path configurable via env vars and would be willing to make the change if you give the green light. Unless of course I am missing something and this can already be achieved.

@kidp330 thank you for opening this ticket; for some reason, I did not receive notification about it. Anyway, I understand what you mean:

❯ find ~/.asdf/plugins -type d -name .ghcup
/Users/sestrella/.asdf/plugins/hls/.ghcup
/Users/sestrella/.asdf/plugins/stack/.ghcup

I agree that having a single .ghcup folder for various plugins would be useful, so if you'd like to submit a PR, I'd be happy to review.
