Sidebar Component makes nested grid and flex layouts difficult

Anyone having luck with the new sidebar component? I find that the flex-based layout is not ideal. Not sure why Grid was not used considering this is a page-level layout. Anyway, I am getting lots of of overflow issues and double scrolling. I will eventually try to make a demo of this, but just wanted to see if anyone else is having issues.
