Very strange! I can't reproduce this on my Mac, and I've never heard of anyone else encountering this. This error message could be occurring in one of two places, but the second one is the only one where it would be pointing to this temporary folder instead of the location of your file wiki, so I'm sure it is coming at the top of the The error message suggests that, somehow, either the previous step (in which your file is converted to a folder wiki in a temporary directory) has failed to complete at all, despite not giving any error message, or something else on your computer has deleted it in the meantime. Maybe you could start by rebooting your Mac, if you haven't done that yet; that fixes puzzling problems like this surprisingly often. If that doesn't work, would you be able to attach copies of your wiki and the shell script you set up? Possibly there is something wrong with one of those that's causing the issue. You can send those to me by email if you don't want to post them publicly (you have my email address, as you also copied me on this there – for what it's worth I get an email for all GitHub issues so there is no need to do this). In addition, can you report your versions of:
I don't think there should be any difference in behavior between versions here, but just in case. |
It sounds like your shell script was incorrect in some way, but without seeing the script itself, I don't know what the issue was.
Glad you got it figured out!

I have solved the problem just by changing the ''path to Tiddlywiki executable'' to the real path of Tiddlywiki, on my Mac is '/opt/homebrew/bin/tiddlywiki', as the image below shows. Then the synchronization works.

After that I read your documentation again and you said

But I just followed your instructions step by step and nothing went wrong during the installation and configuration procedures. I am not proficient in computer but I found that the path of wiki folder '/var/folders/vn/b_cqsm913wd1gn54d9drwrrr0000gn/T/tmpbdxajec0/wikifolder' in the error message was first seen when I installed Tiddlywiki on node.js. It showed on the head of the terminal. Hope that can help to give a hint about why the error occured.

• Tiddlywiki on Node: 5.3.6
• Node.js: v23.6.0

Hello, sobjornstad!
Thanks for your great job first!
I have installed TiddlyRemember on my PC and it works great. But I meet some trouble when installing TiddlyRemember on Mac OS.
I followed the instructions, installed Node.js, installed TiddlyWiki on Node.js and plugin to Anki. Also I used the option 2 "Launch TiddlyWiki from a shell script (advanced)" to calling Tiddlywiki. Test is successful. I installed the TiddlyRemember plugin to the wiki file.
Then I configure the plugin on Anki one by one, I chose the Type file and pasted the path of the wiki to Path. But when synchronizing, it turned out to be something wrong. It showed The wiki folder '/var/folders/vn/b_cqsm913wd1gn54d9drwrrr0000gn/T/tmpbdxajec0/wikifolder' does not exist. Please check your TiddlyRemember configuration.
I repeated uninstalling and installing many times and always the same error.
I'd be really appreciate if you could tell me why it happened and how to solve it.
