This comment will be updated when there is a change in the rules described here.

THIS ISSUE WILL STAY OPEN AS LONG AS JDK8 IS SUPPORTED BY THIS PROJECT. It will be reopened should it be closed accidentaly.

As of 2015, JDK 7 is the default supported JDK for now, thus there is nothing to do for now.

As of August 2016, JDK 8 is the default supported jdk.

Starting during 2017, an evaluation will start to plan code deprecation/rewrite to use wisely the new features of jdk8
