Why am I personally receiving all emails to my domain?

This is probably a very stupid problem, but I'm stumped.

It seems that whenever an email is sent to any address on my Stalwart mail server, I will also receive it on my personal email address ([email protected]). Even when I send it from another email address I have that has nothing to do with my primary address.

I don't understand how this can be happening. I don't even remember having typed my email address during the Stalwart installation process. The etc/config.toml file does not contain it anywhere.

Ideas?

Perhaps you accidentally added your main account as a catch all address?

Which directory are you using? If it's SQL can you post here a dump of your emails table? (The one containing the email address to account mappings)

According to the logs, no messages were sent to [email protected] from that server.

Please do the following test, clear the log file, restart the server and send an email to [email protected]. Once you receive a copy of the email at [email protected], copy the log file to a new file and search for your email address there. If you see it listed on the log file we'll know why the message was forwarded to your main account. If you do not see any entries in the log files, then there is something else going on.

I removed logs/stalwart.log.2023-05-15, did the test, and after I received the email at [email protected], the file logs/stalwart.log.2023-05-15 was still not there.

I recreated it as an empty file, redid the test, and it was still empty.

In fact, even after consulting that address [email protected] via IMAP in that mailer, there was still nothing in the log.

Now I'm even more confused than before...

Perhaps your email client is sending a copy? Or there is a proxy in the middle?

What do you mean by "there is a proxy in the middle"?

I will try with a different mail client, but it was already happening before I configured [email protected] in my current email client (Evolution).

Hm... you're right, it doesn't happen when I close Evolution and use my phone only. Weird!

I remember that this was happening without me having configured this particular address, but now that I think about it, I already had configured another address on the same server, and maybe that was before I understood that I had to link it to a different user in order to make its email storage separate.
