multiple contact merging

I don't know why, but I end have the same contact multiple times on device storage, and no way to merge them,
each time I edit a contact, it seems to create another entry of the same contact....

I use device storage

I cannot reproduce this behaviour. Do you use Simple Contacts Device Storage or Android local device storage? Which kind of edit operation do you use (I tried adding a phone number)? Can you provide screenshots and more detailled description?

here is some screenshot the contacts were at first imported from a backup vcf then some were edited using simple contacts, others with e/os contact manager, all are stored on device (not app) storage somme screenshots are done using simple contacts, others with e/os contact manager Envoyé depuis Proton Mail mobile
