Unread Email messages are not in bold font in message list

Steps to reproduce

1. Open app

Note: I have two accounts from mail.com and I am using them as IMAP.

Expected behavior

For all messages that haven't been opened the subject line should appear in the mssage list in bold font until they have been opened.
The message count should be the total number of unread messages.

Actual behavior

Some unread messages appear in bold some don't. The message count shows only the messages that are in bold.

How do you know the messages are marked as unread if they are not displayed in bold? Do you have another IMAP client that shows the messages as unread? Or do you mean that you haven't read them yet and that's why you assume they should be marked as unread on the server?

I came here because I have a suspicion that Thunderbird 8.2 on android is marking some of my unread messages as read - before I've read them! [edit]: I am an idiot!

I noticed that after upgrading to 8.2 I was missing things in my inbox; including from thunderbird desktop.

I've not figured out under what conditions this occurs- it's not all the time. (it's annoying that it's so darned hard to see on thunderbird desktop when something is new/unread since it's visually very subtle difference)
