[Feature Request] TV and Gaming Console Interface Mode for ArozOS #118
Comments
Unfortunately I didn't have any game console that I can test or even experience the pain point of which this enhancement is trying to resolve. @yeungalan you got interest to pick this up? |
I have some Hardware to Test on not on. FireTV Stick, Telefunken "SmartTV" and a Android Cheap Android Beamer. So just let me Know what needs to be tested. |

This could be an interesting concept, although only if one doesn't throw the entire kitchen sink at it. |
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The current user interface in ArozOS is not optimized for use on TVs or gaming consoles, making it difficult to navigate with a simple remote or game controller.
Describe the solution you'd like
A TV and Gaming Console Interface Mode that is optimized for use with simple remotes and game controllers. The mode would always display a single application in full-screen mode, and allow for scrolling through different active windows or displaying them in different picture-in-picture options.
Describe alternatives you've considered
An alternative solution could be to use a third-party application that provides a TV-optimized interface, but this would require additional setup and may not integrate well with ArozOS.
Additional context
Adding a TV and Gaming Console Interface Mode to ArozOS would improve the user experience for those who use ArozOS on a TV or gaming console, making it easier to navigate and access applications. This would also increase the versatility of ArozOS, making it a more suitable option for a wider range of use cases.
Additional suggestion
Include an alternative startup menu that includes a design similar to the Android TV user interface, making it more familiar and user-friendly for those familiar with Android TV. This would also make it easier to navigate the different options and applications available in ArozOS using a simple remote or game controller.
Implementation
This feature could be implemented using browser detection, which would allow ArozOS to automatically switch to the TV and Gaming Console Interface Mode when it detects that it is being used on a TV or gaming console. This would provide a seamless and user-friendly experience for those using ArozOS on a TV or gaming console.
