We reviewed W/CSDI indicator (Warm/Cold spell duration index). The way these are (correctly, by various definitions, including J. Walsh’s) computed is a bit of a mismatch with a common-sense definition of the term. We want to consider a common-sense version of this indicator - perhaps something like "number of hot spells"
