"Chris Thiry’s Clearinghouse
Jon Jab and Chris Thiry’s workshop material (WAML 2018)
Tom Brittnacher’s article
Keith Jenkins’s workshop
OpenIndexMaps GitHub organization"
For people who are getting to know Index Maps, maybe it would be easier to identify the content, e. g.:
"Clearinghouse of indexes to paper map sets: A group that "acts as a clearinghouse for GIS-produced indexes to paper map sets. The layer packages contain base information, not information about a specific library's holdings." Digital Index Maps: Leveraging GIS to Create Metadata for Online Map Collections: This didatic article by Geospatial Data Curator Tom Brittnacher explains how "UCSB Library, (...) sped up the metadata creation process for map sets by using GIS software to create digital index maps (...).".
Workshop: Creating GeoJSON for OpenIndexMaps: It teaches "how to use QGIS to create OpenIndexMaps GeoJSON files that can be used in GeoBlacklight (GBL) to provide access to a series of maps or other datasets." "
The "Jon Jab and Chris Thiry’s workshop material (WAML 2018)" : I have perused it, and it's unvaluable material, but I'd need more instruction on what to do with it. I think that having it in the beginning of the "course" might be confusing. Maybe adding it to a "Further resources" tab or to a specific part of the "course"?
Same with "OpenIndexMaps GitHub organization": If I were not familiar with github, I wouldn't understand what's this resource, and, in this point of the "course", I still don't know why it was added here, but, I guess it will make sense as soons as "Some stuff about Open Index Maps and GeoBlacklight" is added.
