Objective:

Analyze current compensation patterns and design an optimized incentive structure to reduce burn rate while ensuring high performers maintain or increase total compensation as base pay decreases.

Requirements:

  1. Data Analysis:

    • Track and analyze on-chain transactions for identified team wallets
    • Compare base pay vs incentive-based earnings for each team member
    • Calculate current burn rate and project future scenarios
  2. Compensation Structure Design:

    • Plan quarterly base pay reduction steps (-$2k each)
    • Simulate incentive mechanisms (we have a tool for this) to project incentives based earnings.
    • Target maximum 4 reduction phases from current max ($10k) to minimum/zero base pay

Key Parameters:

  • Maximum base pay: $10k
  • Reduction increment: $2k per phase
  • Implementation frequency: Quarterly maximum
  • Total phases: Up to 4
  • For this task only focus on the first reduction.

Available Data:

  • Team wallet addresses with associated identities
  • Historical base pay records
  • On-chain transaction history
  • Performance metrics and incentive payments

Deliverables:

  1. Current state analysis of compensation distribution
  2. Projected impact analysis of base pay reductions
  3. Proposed incentive structure adjustments
  4. Implementation timeline and phase triggers

Success Criteria:

  • Reduced overall burn rate
  • High performers maintain or increase total compensation

Note: This is a one-time analysis project with specific implementation phases, not requiring ongoing maintenance.

/ask can you help me break this apart into sub issues?

  • I know that the simulations will be a project that will take me about a day to come up with the numbers. This will be gentlementlegen and my project.
  • I think that the accounting/spreadsheet work will also be about a day. v4d33m's project
  • Writing a plan of implementation steps for the full year will take half a day. minhyeong112 and my project.

I'll help break down Issue #151 into sub-issues based on your provided workstreams and team assignments:

Sub-Issue 1: Compensation Simulations

  • Assignees: gentlementlegen, [original requester]
  • Estimated time: 1 day
  • Tasks:
    • Create simulation models for incentive mechanisms
    • Project earnings scenarios with reduced base pay
    • Calculate impact on high performers' total compensation
    • Document simulation results and recommendations

Sub-Issue 2: Financial Analysis & Accounting

  • Assignee: v4d33m
  • Estimated time: 1 day
  • Tasks:
    • Track and analyze on-chain transactions for team wallets
    • Compare current base pay vs incentive earnings
    • Create spreadsheet documenting current compensation patterns
    • Calculate current burn rate
    • Prepare financial impact analysis for proposed changes

Sub-Issue 3: Implementation Planning

  • Assignees: minhyeong112, [original requester]
  • Estimated time: 0.5 day
  • Tasks:
    • Design quarterly reduction schedule
    • Define phase triggers and milestones
    • Create timeline for full year implementation
    • Document success metrics and monitoring plan
    • Outline communication strategy for team

Each sub-issue should reference the parent Issue #151 and include relevant sections from the original requirements to maintain context.
