Which Umbraco version are you using? (Please write the exact version, example: 10.1.0)

15.2.1

Bug summary

When using a Multi URL Picker in a multilingual setup, the picker initially selects the wrong culture's URL. For example, when adding a link in the Danish culture, the picker chooses the English version of the page. After saving and publishing, the link correctly switches to the Danish version, but the link label/title in Umbraco remains in English, even though the link itself is for the Danish page. This causes confusion for users.

Specifics

  • Umbraco version: 15.2.1
  • Languages used: Danish (da-DK, default) and English (en-US)
  • Domains configured:
    • Danish: /
    • English: /en
  • Document types:
    • Root Document Type: Allowed at root, varies by culture, allows child pages.
    • Page Document Type: Varies by culture, contains a Multi URL Picker that also varies by culture.
  • A video demonstrating the issue is attached.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a fresh Umbraco project.
  2. Add two languages: Danish (da-DK) as default and English (en-US).
  3. Create a Root Document Type (allowed at root, varies by culture) and a Page Document Type (also varies by culture with a Multi URL Picker field).
  4. Configure domains in the content tab: / for Danish and /en for English.
  5. Create a couple of pages and publish them in both languages.
  6. Create a new page in the Danish culture and use the Multi URL Picker to link to another Danish page.

Expected result / actual result

Expected Result

  • The Multi URL Picker should select the Danish version of the page immediately when linking in the Danish culture.
  • The link label/title in the Multi URL Picker field should reflect the Danish version.

Actual Result

  • The Multi URL Picker selects the English version of the page when linking in the Danish culture.
  • After saving and publishing, the link correctly switches to the Danish version, but the link label/title remains in English, even though it is a Danish link.

Hi there @marcusolrik!

Firstly, a big thank you for raising this issue. Every piece of feedback we receive helps us to make Umbraco better.

We really appreciate your patience while we wait for our team to have a look at this but we wanted to let you know that we see this and share with you the plan for what comes next.

  • We'll assess whether this issue relates to something that has already been fixed in a later version of the release that it has been raised for.
  • If it's a bug, is it related to a release that we are actively supporting or is it related to a release that's in the end-of-life or security-only phase?
  • We'll replicate the issue to ensure that the problem is as described.
  • We'll decide whether the behavior is an issue or if the behavior is intended.

We wish we could work with everyone directly and assess your issue immediately but we're in the fortunate position of having lots of contributions to work with and only a few humans who are able to do it. We are making progress though and in the meantime, we will keep you in the loop and let you know when we have any questions.

Thanks, from your friendly Umbraco GitHub bot 🤖 🙂
