Run from Proxmox #11
Comments
I'm also interested in if this would be possible, from what i know it needs to connect to a some os running the server for data via usb, so we should be able to pass a usb from the server to the proxmox VM so that way the car thing can communicate with the server, I may try this out soon and see if I can get any results |
Should work fine if you pass the USB device to a VM or even an LXC container. All it’s needed for is to provide USB Ethernet to the Car Thing. |
Can I close this? For future reference, flashing using superbird-tool should work on the pve host shell, and possibly a VM with USB passthrough (however im not sure if the USB redirector would be happy with this). Actually giving the Car Thing network should work on any part of Proxmox since it just needs a usable USB connection for the most part. |
Yeh, would be nice if anyone tries that updates info here, though it is not an issue an probably should be closed, |
Would it be possible to run it from proxmox, I use Carthing at the desktop where I have a proxmox server with some linux containers and some VMs,
does carthing need to be connected to the linux usb for data, or is it just for power?
I am trying to establish the resources the VM would need to run this, access to bluetooth and usb, or just Bluetooth.
I am not familiar with GitHub so if posting this on a "issue" page is not the right thing to do, please delete it,
Thanks
