Help the general effort for Codex to compare themselves to BitTorrent.
This is a meta[task], or a container task for the Commitment "Faster Than BitTorrent" which is a Codex commitment we'll be helping them achieve (parts of which will be captured as explicit tasks and deliverables within DST).
This will encompass the wider tasks
around both the direct DST work,
but also working with Codex
as a blessed temporary secondment
that runs in parallel to existing work,
and as a bonus allows for later
directly creating a real BitTorrent streaming site
and a Codex streaming site
(although this explicitly not a goal until relevant to Codex)
and comparing them head to head with users.
The efforts will span October,
aim to wrap up in November,
definitely answer whether Codex is faster than BitTorrent or vice versa,
and support future improvements in Codex performance and scalability.
and a head-to-head RiffTorrent vs RiffCodex may be explored later
if appropriate - possibly as an LLMfight style blind A/B
where you pick which feels better
and we are able through that to prove
that one is perceptibly faster and that it makes a difference to preferences.
