It isn't compatible with Arduino IDE 1.5: Library specification descriped in https://github.com/arduino/Arduino/wiki/Arduino-IDE-1.5:-Library-specification

What is the symptom for that @paul70078 ?

I get

Using library stlport in folder: /home/sehe/Arduino/libraries/stlport (legacy)
readdirent: not a directory

That's with either STLport-5.2-arduino-installed or STLport-master-arduino-installed ¹

Using IDE 1.6.6

Is this the same issue?

¹ (I have c++11 enabled - -std=gnu++1y in fact via hardware/arduino/avr/platform.txt. I have been able to compile c++14 code without a hitch using StandardCplusplus instead, but that library doesn't look it will ever contain the TR1/c++11 bits)

Maybe it is something with the new version of GCC... I've opened another issue that may be related to this one.
