It is unclear to me, how to view facts and only display say a single key within a fact that is say a hash.

I recommend enabling legacy facts, this will display unstructured/legacy facts in puppetboard, eg operatingsystem https://www.puppet.com/docs/puppet/8/configuration.html#include-legacy-facts

I think a real revision of the facts page based on structured facts is necessary given the deprecation of legacy facts. It is impossible to visualize facts in a meaningful way in the current form. also #874
