Play feedback when volume is changed

A feedback sound effect plays when adjusting volume on my 16" M2 Max MacBook Pro without a monitor attached. This is volume.aiff located in /System/Library/LoginPlugins/BezelServices.loginPlugin/Contents/Resources/

When using BetterDisplay, it correctly adjusts my monitor's volume from the keyboard's volume keys, but the feedback sound effect does not play. Am I missing something to enable this?

Thank you for making BetterDisplay! Was using MonitorControl with my 2019 MacBook Pro but it doesn't work on the new M2.
