Hi there, the better way to do this is to create a dummy with the resolution you'd actually want and stream it to your real screen using the Steam Dummy feature and then use the underscan slider to make the screen the desired size. If you wanted an ultrawide, you can also opt for creating a 3840x1080 dummy and move it to the bottom of the screen maybe if it feels closer to your eyes. |

I have an LG 42 C2 OLED TV that I use as a monitor. I am trying out Better Display and so far, I like it a lot. I set the Dummy Display's aspect ratio to 32x9 and then I adjusted the resolution to be 3840x1080. I then want to set the resolution to 1920x1080 so that there will be black bars to the left and right side of the screen. Is it possible to setup a custom resolution to be 1920x1080 while not filling the entire screen?
I actually like this kind of setup where I can turn the display into a productivity monitor and then turn off the dummy display if I want to watch 4K videos on a large screen. That way, I do not have to switch between two different screen sizes. Right now, I am currently using a magnifier on a 32x9 screen, but if I could have black bars to the left and right side of the screen and narrow the top menu bar, that would be great.
Is such a thing really possible?
