New year, new discussion categories!

Happy 2025, Team Docs!

Just a quick note that we've updated both our Issues and Discussions workflows, so here's what's new:

• We've reduced the number of Issue templates. Issues are now limited to bugs and incorrect documentation that needs fixing. This should help keep the Issues inbox tidy, and focused on things that are wrong that we can fix. If you try to suggest new or missing content, you'll be directed here.

• Discussions (💡 Ideas) is now the place for new content ideas/requests. This allows for a nice view by upvotes and can help us figure out which ideas are most wanted by the community.

• Some discussions categories have been removed because they were never intended to be here in the first place:

  • Q and A ended up being mostly support questions about how to use Astro. We can't really offer support here, and that's what Discord is for.
  • Show and Tell (why was this ever here?? 😅 ) doesn't really make sense, and we encourage everyone to post your cool stuff in the #showcase channel on Discord, on social media etc. where it can make it into our monthly showcase blog post and newsletter.
  • No one needs another "General" place in their lives! We're keeping discussions focused, so that category has been removed!

• But, since you might have questions about contributing, I have added a new Q and A category that allows you to ask those kinds of questions, or talk about contributing. Those are the kinds of questions we're prepared to handle here!

(Note: when you delete discussion categories, old posts have to move somewhere, so right now, everything is in 💡 Ideas, including old questions about how to use Astro that clearly are not docs ideas. We'll just carry on fresh and let those eventually sink to the bottom, occasionally closing some where needed or appropriate.)
